Session 27- Kudhitametti steps 2,3 and 4

KM2,3,4

We will be practising the 2nd , 3rd and 4th steps in Kudhitametti today. Can you figure them out yourselveslooking at the pictures? Did you give it a try? Ok If you didn’t here are the explanations.
Step 2 (ref Fig 1 an 2)

Start Position: Fig. 2 (Araimandi with katakamukham at chest level)

  • Thai-ha: Turn your torsos and stretch the right hand back in uttana alapadmam as in fig 1(One jump and down movement of feet)
  • Thai -he: Turn back straight with the right hand brought back in katakamukham.
  • Repeat the movement to the right once more (A total of two times)
  • After completing the right, repeat the movement to the left twice for 2 sets of Thai- ha-Thai-he

Step 3 (ref. fig. 3 and 4)

Start Position: Fig. 4 (Araimandi with katakamukham at chest level on the right and the left hand stretched in katakamukham or pathakam at the shoulder level)

  • Thai-ha: bend at your waist to your right and stretch the right hand alapadmam near the opposite, left knee as in fig 3.(One jump and down movement of feet)
  • Thai -he: Turn back straight with the right hand brought back in katakamukham.
  • Repeat the movement to the right once more (A total of two times)
  • After completing the right, repeat the movement to the left twice for 2 sets of Thai- ha-Thai-he.

Step 4: This step is similar to the the previous step 3, but here both the hands move in unison.

Start Position: Fig. 2 (Araimandi with katakamukham at chest level)

  • Thai-ha: bend at your waist to your right and stretch both the right hand alapadmam near the opposite, left knee. The figure 3 shows the movement executed to the left. Now you will mirror figure 3(One jump and down movement of feet)
  • Thai -he: Turn back straight with the hands brought back in katakamukham as in fig. 2
  • Repeat the movement to the right once more (A total of two times)
  • After completing the right, repeat the movement to the left twice for 2 sets of Thai- ha-Thai-he.
